Freda Ene Ukpoju

Communications Manager, HACDI Africa

Freda Ene Ukpoju is a dynamic communications professional with a strong background in advocacy, program management, and event promotion. With over a decade of experience spanning civil society, corporate communications, and consultancy, she brings creativity, innovation, and strategic thinking to every project. Her work reflects a commitment to advancing organizational missions through effective storytelling, collaborative leadership, and impactful community engagement. Freda holds a B.A (Hons) in Film and Television Studies from the University of Johannesburg, South Africa, and a B.A (Hons) in Mass Communication from the University of Jos, Nigeria. Her academic foundation in media and communication has equipped her with the skills to craft compelling narratives and manage diverse
communication strategies.

Currently serving as Program Officer at the Peering Advocacy and Advancement Centre in Africa, Freda designs and implements civil society programs, engages donors, and fosters partnerships across philanthropic and advocacy sectors. She has successfully led initiatives such as the Say No Campaign Platform, which mobilized communities against corruption across multiple Nigerian states. She also pioneered the creation of community anti-corruption working groups and established a nationwide network of religious and traditional leaders committed to integrity and accountability. Her previous roles include Communication Specialist at Nigsa Petroleum Pty Ltd in South Africa, where she managed corporate communications and market analysis, and Visa Consultant at Visas International Company, where she provided advisory services and strengthened client relations. Freda’s expertise spans:
